Language: The official language of Jordan is Arabic. English is widely spoken in hotels, tourist areas, and major cities such as Amman, Petra, and Aqaba, making it easy for travelers to navigate.
Currency: Jordan uses the Jordanian Dinar (JOD) as its official currency. Credit and debit cards are accepted in hotels, but cash is recommended for local markets, taxis, and smaller towns.
Passport Validity: Your U.S. passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in Jordan and have at least one blank page for entry stamps.
Visa Requirements: U.S. citizens can obtain a tourist visa on arrival in Jordan for stays up to 30 days. A visa can also be obtained in advance online or at Jordanian embassies. Proof of onward travel and accommodation may be required.
